RCB Alert. On Sunday, the Government Center for Security warned residents of parts of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship against using the Oder waters. A flood wave is passing through the region.
“Attention! It is forbidden to use the waters of the Oder River. This applies to: drinking the water, entering it, watering animals, watering plants and eating fish” – the RCB sent an SMS with this content on Sunday morning to recipients living in the province. West Pomeranian Voivodeshipin the following counties: Myślibórz, Gryfino, Police, Goleniów and in the city Szczecin.
Flood wave on the Oder. Bans in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship
On Friday, due to a direct threat to the life and health of people and animals, a ban on using the waters of the Odra River, Lake Dąbie and the Szczecin Lagoon was introduced in the voivodeship by the West Pomeranian Voivode.
In the West Pomeranian Voivodeship there is also a ban on driving on flood embankments, flights of unmanned aircraft over the Oder bed, navigation on the Oder and amateur fishing in the Oder and Portowe Lake.

How to behave in the event of a risk of flooding
RCB reminds that in the event of a risk of flooding you should:
- listen to messages about the threat and what to do on local radio or television;
- move valuable items to the upper floors of the building,
- make sure your mobile phone is fully charged at all times,
- move vehicles from the property to non-hazardous places,
- secure the building and prepare sandbags.
Let us remember that we should immediately inform the services about cases that we believe have or may have significance for safety, by calling the emergency number 112 – appeals the Government Center for Security.
