Colin Armstrong: Police in Ecuador rescue British businessman after ranch kidnap | UK Information

A British businessman who was kidnapped from his house in Ecuador has been rescued by police.

Colin Armstrong, who can also be the UK’s Honorary Consul in Guayaquil, was reportedly taken from a ranch he owns within the province of Los Rios, alongside along with his associate, early on Saturday morning.

Native media experiences mentioned criminals disguised as law enforcement officials forcibly entered the 78-year-old’s property and snatched him and his associate, who’s a Colombian nationwide.

However at this time Cesar Augusto Zapata Correa, the overall commander of the Nationwide Police of Ecuador, posted on X to say that Mr Armstrong had been discovered on the street to Manabi, not removed from the place he was kidnapped.

The police chief mentioned Mr Armstrong is “protected and wholesome” and that 9 individuals have been arrested.
