There is no need for a law to introduce compulsory vaccinations against COVID-19. A decree of the minister of health is enough, said the leader of the Polish People’s Party, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in “Fakt after Fakt”. He referred to the bill proposed by the Left, introducing obligatory vaccinations for adults and fines for non-compliance with it.

The Left on Sunday announced a bill that would introduce mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 for adults, and the unvaccinated would be subject to a fine. The draft is to be submitted to the Sejm on Monday. Party leaders called on other formations to support this solution.

Kosiniak-Kamysz on compulsory vaccinations: you don’t need a law for that

The leader of the Polish People’s Party, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, referred to the matter in the Sunday edition of “Faktów po Faktach”. The head of the People’s Party, a doctor by education, worked in the covid emergency room during the COVID-19 pandemic. – You do not need a law for this, it is the responsibility of the Minister of Health. (…) This is an ordinance of the minister of health, not an act – said the leader of the PSL. He reminded that in Poland, vaccinations against certain viral diseases are already compulsory.

– I would expect information about the decisions of the Medical Council, implementation of the decisions of the Medical Council and taking responsibility for health by the Minister of Health. Today he abdicated, he doesn’t deal with health. This is an ineffective, irresponsible and, unfortunately, incompetent minister and government in this regard, he assessed.

Asked whether the joint arrangements of parliamentary groups to fight the pandemic made sense, Kosiniak-Kamysz replied that “they would have had a dream if they were conducted regularly”. – They are carried out only when there is already helplessness, complete ineffectiveness of the rulers, who are unable to make decisions because they are afraid that the bars of support will fall – he said. He added that “doctors should decide, epidemiologists should decide, not bars of support”.

– If there is such a law, I believe that it is necessary to start with the groups that are particularly vulnerable and have a special responsibility. These are medical workers, employees of Nursing Homes and these are teachers. This is what I would start from, if it were me to decide. But someone formulated the powers for the minister of health to include those diseases that require such actions on the list of compulsory vaccinations. It never gave rise to a problem, and today a problem has arisen because there is no responsibility for health safety – he stressed.
