Tens of thousands of protesters took part in a “March for Israel” in downtown Washington on Tuesday, expressing support for the actions Israel and opposition to anti-Semitism.
Demonstrators, many carrying blue and white Israeli flags, gathered on the National Mall between the Washington Monument and the Capitol. The demonstration took place under the slogan “For Israel, to free the hostages and against anti-Semitism.”
According to ABC television, the organizers expected 60,000 people to participate, some of whom came to the capital from other parts of the country by bus. The media talk about “tens of thousands” of participants.

Leaders of both parties in Congress took part in the demonstration
During the rally, speakers included: parents of citizens kidnapped by Hamas USAJewish musicians performed, as well as politicians including Israeli Ambassador Michael Herzog and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson.
– As Prime Minister Netanyahu rightly said: this is a fight between good and evil, this is a fight between light and darkness, civilization and barbarism – said the leader of the Republicans in Congress.

Herzog spoke about the need to end the war so that the Hamas hostages could be released. Democratic congressional leaders, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Majority Leader also took the stage Chuck Schumer.
– We are united here, Republicans and Democrats, to say: we stand with Israel, Schumer said.
Tuesday’s march was the first large-scale demonstration of support for Israel in Washington since the beginning of the current phase of the conflict. Earlier, a march by pro-Palestinian organizations gathered large crowds in front of the White House.
