The Confederation Congress has changed on Saturday in party structures. None of the activists of the Polish Crown Confederation sits on her council. Its president is removed from the party in January this year, MEP Grzegorz Braun.
The Congress of the Confederation is a body convened once every five years, which is the competence, among others appointing members of the 12-person council of leaders for a five-year term.
Witold Tumanowicz, who presided over Congress on Saturday, explained in a conversation with PAP that the list of members of the council did not include the Polish Crown Confederation Skalik and Robert Iwaszkiewicz. MP Roman Fritz, also an activist of the “Korona”, withdrew from the candidacy for its structures.
In addition – as Tumanowicz said – Skalik and Iwaszkiewicz, under the decision of the party court, were excluded from the party on Thursday. The scale, however, still remains a member of the parliamentary club.
After Braun's decision
Changes regarding activists of the Polish Crown Confederation are associated with The January decision of Grzegorz Braun on candidacy – contrary to the party's findings – in this year's presidential election. Sławomir Mentzen is the official candidate of the confederation. The scale and Iwaszkiewicz were removed because of their support for Braun's candidacy. The scale is the head of his election staff.
The name of the Council of Leaders established on Saturday is: Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Krzysztof BosakMEP Anna Bryłka, Marek Szewczyk from the legal office of the party, MP Krzysztof Tuduj, MP Witold Tumanowicz, Paweł Ujądek, MEP Marcin Sypniewski, MP Bartłomiej Pejo, MP Konrad Berkowicz, MP Grzegorz Płaczek, Bartosz Bocheńczak and MEP Stanisław Tyszka.
Korwin-Mikke submitted the application
In July last year, a former party MP Janusz Korwin -Mikke informed that the confederation did not show the Congress, for which – every five years – I oblige her to the statute. Therefore, Korwin-Mikke submitted a request to the District Court in Warsaw for Establishment for a curator partywhich was dismissed by the court. The court stated that until the new composition of the confederation bodies selecting the existing members continues their duties.
MP and Treasurer of the Confederation Michał Wawer explained that the party Congress would be convened “at the right time”. He argued that “in any grouping of 'the center of the election cycle' is not a time to change the internal authorities.”
According to paragraph 21, paragraph 1 of the party's statute, “Congress is convened by the Council of Leaders at least once every five years. By calling the Congress, the Council of Leaders appoints the chairman of the Congress whose task is to organize and conduct a congress.” “The Congress, at which the party authorities will be selected for the next term, does not take place later than on the day of the term of office of the current party authorities” (paragraph 21 (2)). At the same time – according to parish 3 para. 7 of the Statute – “The term of office of bodies counts from the day of election. After the term of office, until the new authorities are selected, current members continue their duties.” Congress competences include adopting or changing the statute or appointment for a 5-year term of office members of the Council of Leaders.
The confederation is currently created by the following formations: New Hope (formerly Korwin), whose leader is MP Sławomir Mentzen, National Movement – with Krzysztof Bosak at the head and Confederation Polish Crown, whose leader is Grzegorz Braun.
