On Saturday’s congress of the European right PiS head Jarosław Kaczyński, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, as well as the heads of several conservative European parties, including the chairman of Fidesz, the Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban, the president of the Spanish Vox Santiago Abascal and the head of the French National Union Marine Le Pen, are present.
– This is a continuation of what was started in July, when the declaration of the leaders of the right-wing and conservative parties was adopted. We are counting on a good discussion, on building foundations for wider cooperation of conservative parties from all over Europe, both as part of today’s political arrangement in the European Parliament and the one that will be in the future – said Radosław Fogiel, the PiS deputy spokesman.
He added that the meeting will be divided into two closed working sessions and will probably end with the adoption of a joint statement by the group’s leaders.
Le Pen and Orban arrived in Warsaw on Friday. Both met with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
In early July, members of the right-wing conservative groups whose representatives sit in the European Parliament, they signed a joint ideological declaration. The signature was made by, among others, Jarosław Kaczyński, Santiago Abascal, Victor Orban, Giorgia Meloni, chairman of the Brothers of Italy, Matteo Salvini, leader of the League, and representatives of a dozen other center-right parties.
