Biedroń: the alliance of the countryside and the city pays off for everyone

– I have the impression that President Kaczyński cannot live without an enemy, without divisions. We know and feel that the countryside and the city can work very well together, they can complement each other, and there are many spaces for cooperation and very few of them PIS used. This alliance of the countryside and the city pays off for everyone – said the other co-chairman of the New Left. Robert Biedron. Turning to the president of PiS, he announced: – It was you who divided Poland

He added that today it is necessary to reunite Poland. – Today, the Left appeals to the entire opposition: let’s show that we want to unite Poland, that we want this community, that today Poland is not one, but will be one thanks to the victory of the opposition – he announced.

He pointed out that Poland can be a powerhouse when it comes to the production of vegetables and fruits, and that the Polish countryside is a national treasure and unique on a global scale. – The Left proposes specific solutions so that the road from field to table is not only as short as possible, but also healthy, economical and profitable, both for farmers and consumers – said Biedroń.

He drew attention to the EU support for farmers in renewable energy sources and the creation of energy cooperatives on the Bavarian model, thanks to which residents use the electricity produced in their town, and also announced a small retention program that would help farmers fight drought.

Iwaniek: the government disregarded the issue of Ukrainian grain

The head of the Left in Mazovia MP Arkadiusz Iwaniek accused the government of disregarding the issue of Ukrainian grain and pointing out that many companies made money on this problem.

He presented the Left’s plan to solve current problems by: buying Polish grain by the European Union and transferring it to countries where people are threatened with hunger. He mentioned the temporary introduction of tariffs on Ukrainian grain and poultry, with the assumption that 80 percent. of the duty collected goes back to support the combatant Ukraineproviding an alternative to reloading ports, increasing the share of biocomponents in fuels from 7 to 10%, utilizing contaminated grain.

The MP of the Left emphasized that the future solution is the construction of an agroport in Gdańsk and the expansion of railway lines.

Another issue that Iwaniek pointed out was the dishonesty of large retail chains. In this context, the Left would like to introduce a maximum of 30-day payment terms for food suppliers and introduce a statutory principle that you cannot buy from a farmer below the product’s production price, which is already in force in Spain. Iwaniek also talked about the creation of an insurance system, and 90 percent of the first premium is paid for. will be covered by the State Treasury and the EU.

The left, as emphasized by the politician, also wants to fight ASF (African swine fever) by, among others, increasing subsidies for biosecurity to PLN 250 million, and farmers whose farms fall victim to avian influenza will receive compensation without undue delay.

Zandberg: time to end the philosophy of stinginess

Adrian Zanderg and Dorota Olko from the Together Party spoke about the need for efficient public services in the Polish countryside. Zandberg pointed to people who live in the countryside and do not work in agriculture and said that the Left wanted to increase investment in transport in rural regions. “It’s time to put an end to the philosophy of stinginess,” he argued. He added that local governments should be rewarded for creating new transport connections.

Olko emphasized that for rural areas, public transport is not only about commuting to work or school, but also the possibility of using other services, e.g. cinema or meeting friends from school and work who live in cities. – The bus in each commune is freedom of choice – she argued.

The challenge Zandberg talked about is healthcare closer to people, especially in the countryside, where many elderly people live, who must have easier access to tests and diagnostics, and county hospitals should be expanded. – We want to give more importance and more resources to municipal health centers – he assured.

Olko pointed out that rural women should have easier access to a gynecologist, access to nurseries should be increased so that mothers would not give up their jobs.

Lewica posted a list of her proposals for the Polish countryside on Twitter.
