On Thursday, 5,109 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. This is the third highest daily increase since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland.

The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday 24,882 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection. This is the next highest daily report in the fourth wave of the pandemic. The ministry also said that 370 people with COVID-19 had died.

According to the Ministry of Health’s announcement, the highest number of new infections was confirmed in Mazowieckie voivodship – 5109. It turns out that this is the third highest daily increase in infections in the voivodship since the beginning of the pandemic. More cases were confirmed recently on March 26 and 27, during the third wave.

On Thursday, the ministry also announced the death of 52 people. 14 people died as a result of COVID-19, 38 patients suffered from comorbidities.

In Warsaw, on the other hand, 2022 new cases of coronavirus infections were confirmed in the last 24 hours. This is the fifth highest result since the beginning of the year. The ministry announced on Thursday about 10 deaths in the capital.

“The fourth wave is a pandemic of unvaccinated people”

Waldemar Kraska emphasized on Thursday that “all the data we receive indicates that the fourth wave is the unvaccinated pandemic“He gave the example of one of the hospitals in Lublin.” In intensive care units, the average age of a patient is 30 years. These are very young people, healthy, physically active, unfortunately they are not vaccinated, “he said.

As he added, “it is not like it was at the beginning of the pandemic that only the elderly, the sick, get sick.” – At the moment, everyone really gets sick, especially people who are unvaccinated – said the deputy minister of health.
