The invited guests discussed the draft law on covid verification and the fight against the coronavirus in “Kawa na pewę”. Borys Budka (KO) said that “the prime minister suddenly everything is on fire and collapses”, so he “will come up with the idea that he will suddenly consult the opposition”. Bolesław Piecha (PiS) decided that it was good that the head of government wanted a meeting. However, he stressed that the law on covid verification was “overdue”. Paweł Mucha from the president’s chancellery argued that in the case of these regulations “there must be a final draft for the president to be able to express his opinion”.

The guests of Sunday’s “Coffee on the bench” on TVN24 talked about the epidemic situation in Poland, among other things. Chairman of the Civic Coalition Borys Budka (PO) informed that on Saturday at 10 p.m. the party received an invitation to a meeting with the prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki on the fight against COVID-19. “We’ll officially answer them tomorrow,” he said.

Budka: everything is suddenly on fire for the prime minister and collapses

– On the other hand (…) on the previous one a meeting with the Marshal (of the Sejm, Elżbieta – ed.) Witek Despite loud announcements, despite many demands, nothing was decided. The Prime Minister suddenly everything is on fire and collapses, the Medical Council resigned, because there were no real actions on the part of the government that would fulfill its recommendations, which is why the prime minister will now come up with the idea that he will suddenly consult the opposition – commented.

However, Budka assured that “there will be a representative at this meeting for sure”. – It’s obvious, we owe it to the Poles – he said.

The KO politician also said that “even such a simple bill, for which the employers and trade unions have jointly postulated, has not been passed by PiS so far, despite the fact that the opposition guaranteed the majority for this bill – I am talking about the so-called Hoc Act – because Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński more he takes into account the opinion of a few strongly screaming anti-vaccines in his own club rather than the opinions of experts. ” – So I do not expect much from the meeting with Prime Minister Morawiecki – added Budka.

Piecha: I have such a feeling that we have wasted our time

Law and Justice MP Bolesław Piecha, a physician by education, decided that “it is very good that the prime minister wants to meet the opposition, because many different things need to be discussed, including what is on the table, that is statutory solutions.”

– I believe this law is overdue. I know what the pandemic guidelines are today. We are well aware that the omicron will unfortunately paralyze part of the Polish economy. In order to prevent this, one has to adopt a certain act and another one, the Hoca – he said, referring to the draft act on covid verification, the face of which is Deputy Czesław Hoc.

The TVN24 guest also admitted: – I have such a feeling that we have wasted our time and I am supporting it. “But I always think it is never too late,” he added.

Covid verification. Mucha: there must be a final draft for the president to have his say

Paweł Mucha from the president’s office referred to the words the head of the office of President Paweł Szrot. When asked about Andrzej Duda’s position on the covid verification law, Szrot said that it touched upon “very sensitive issues, sensitive data, and citizens’ personal rights.” He added that “we must balance the arguments of those who say it is needed to combat this epidemic” and those who “defend citizens’ right to data protection here”.

According to the guest of “Coffee on the bench”, “it is a simple statement that if there is no final form of the act, then the presidential ministers do not express their opinion on the president’s decision.” Noticing that Szrot had just spoken, Mucha said: – He said that you should consider your arguments. And these reasons will be considered as will be the final shape of this law.

– I understand that the bill will be processed by the parliament. As it will have its final shape, then your gift – as in the case of every law – will consider all circumstances: substantive, legal – continued the president’s advisor. He pointed out that “this must be a final wording for the president to be able to speak out.”
