On April 15, the Ministry of Health announced that will inform you about new infections coronavirus once a week – on Wednesdays. However, daily data appear on the government website gov.pl/koronawirus.


On Saturday it was informed about 4,410 new infections. In this number, 698 reinfections were recorded. The ministry also said that 15 people died patients with COVID-19. Eight of them had comorbidities. Four people recovered.

With 4,410 confirmed infections, the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that they had been carried out 11,628 tests for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. This means that the infection was confirmed by more than one third of the tests (37.9%).

There are 2,389 COVID-19 patients in hospitals as of Tuesday, August 2, when the last data are available. A week earlier, there were 1,884. This means that the number of patients in hospitals increased by 505, or more than a quarter (26.8 percent).

A week ago (July 30), the Ministry of Health informed about 3687 confirmed infections. The number of infections today is higher by 723. This is an increase of almost 20 percent.

The average number of confirmed infections daily, calculated on the basis of the data from the last seven days, is 3512 and is the highest since April 3. This indicator has been increasing continuously since June 19. Immediately before that date, the average was 170 infections daily.

From the beginning of the epidemic in Poland, the authorities confirmed 6 093 571 infection. It died due to COVID-19 116 660 people.

Weekly report of the Ministry of Health

On Wednesday, August 3, presenting a weekly report, the Ministry of Health announced that in the period from July 28 to August 3 research confirmed 21,973 infectionsincluding 3,577 retries.

The ministry said that infections confirmed during this week were detected in people from the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie (3707), Śląskie (2840), Małopolskie (1822), Dolnośląskie (1759), Greater Poland (1473), Łódź (1309), Pomeranian (1220) , Kuyavian-Pomeranian (1071), Lublin (1042), West Pomeranian (1041), Podkarpackie (1019), Podlasie (848), Warmian-Masurian (788), Świętokrzyskie (657), Opole (559) and Lubuskie (462).

356 infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.

The ministry said that 20 patients died of COVID-19, and 53 people died from the coexistence of COVID-19 with other diseases.

During this period, over 64.3 thousand tests were performed for the presence of coronavirus.

Coronavirus in Poland. How many vaccinations have been taken?

According to the data published on the government vaccination website, it was announced by Saturday 55 239 611 doses of different vaccines. The first dose was taken 22 753 080 vaccinations. It is fully vaccinated 22 530 603 people – vaccinated with a single-dose preparation of Johnson & Johnson or two doses of AstraZeneca, Moderna or Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines.

According to the information provided on the government website, until Saturday was given in total 12 614 211 booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines. This is the sum of injections in people who completed the primary vaccination course at least 180 days earlier, counting from the date of the last dose. This is the third dose for people who have received the preparation from Pfizer / BioNTech or Moderna, or the second for people who have taken the preparation from Johnson & Johnson.

Vaccinations against COVID-19 – the most important information

August 6 health ministry said it was done 212 853 vaccination with the third booster dose. It concerns people from the age of 12 who have immunity disorders and have already been fully vaccinated with the preparation of Pfizer / BioNTechu, Moderny or AstraZeneki.
