The map of coronavirus infections in Poland shows that the highest number of infections from the beginning of the epidemic was confirmed in Mazovia and Silesia, and the lowest in the Świętokrzyskie and Lubuskie voivodships. On Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced 16,896 new infections with SARS-CoV-2. So far, over 21.4 million Poles have been fully vaccinated. See the latest data from the Ministry of Health.

Coronavirus in Poland. How many vaccinations have been taken?

It was served by Saturday 49 362 965 doses of different COVID-19 vaccines. The first dose was taken 22 010 663 vaccinations. It is fully vaccinated 21 424 542 people – vaccinated with a single-dose preparation of Johnson & Johnson or two doses of AstraZeneca, Moderna or Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines.

According to information released on the government website, the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was administered together by Saturday 8 363 521 times. This is the sum of injections in people who completed the primary vaccination course at least 180 days earlier, counting from the date of the last dose. This is the third dose for people who have received the preparation from Pfizer / BioNTech or Moderna, or the second for people who have taken the preparation from Johnson & Johnson.

On January 15, the Ministry of Health announced that it had been carried out 198 967 vaccination with the third booster dose. These are people from the age of 12 who have immunity disorders and have already been fully vaccinated with a preparation from Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna or AstraZeneka.

Saturday’s epidemic report shows that:

30 696 beds are intended for patients with COVID-19 (-50 compared to the previous day), – of this 15 114 beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients (-542), – 2756 ventilators are intended for patients with COVID-19 (-2), – of which 1542 respirators are currently used (-58), – 261 636 people are in quarantine (+35 367), – 3 760 013 people recovered (+14 400).

Coronavirus in Poland – how many infections?

The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Poland was first confirmed on March 4, 2020.

The ceiling of one million confirmed infections was exceeded on December 2, 2020.

The number of two million confirmed infections was exceeded on March 19, 2021.

On October 29, the Ministry of Health informed about over three million detected infections.

On December 22, 2021, the number of confirmed infections exceeded four million.

On January 11, 2022, the number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths exceeded 100,000.

Coronavirus in Poland. Restrictions

Due to the pandemic, they came into force on December 15, 2021 tightened limits:

Hotels and leisure facilities, religious facilities, sports facilities, restaurants, bars, cinemas, theaters: 30 percent occupancy limit for unvaccinated persons.
Education: From December 20 to January 9, 2022, primary and secondary school students were learning remotely. Nurseries and kindergartens functioned unchanged.
Clubs, discos: Canceled from December 15th. The exception was the New Year’s Eve night, when events will be held in a strict sanitary regime, with a maximum limit of 100 people.
Compulsory testing for coronavirus: From December 15, every person before arriving to Poland from outside the Schengen area must take a COVID-19 test. The test should be performed no earlier than 24 hours before departure. From December 15, the mandatory test also applies to people who live with someone infected with COVID-19. Again, vaccination will not release you from testing.

The vaccinated persons are not counted towards the quotas.

From December 1, 2021, they are in force in Poland earlier restrictions partially changed, incl:

Ban on flights to seven countries: Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe,
Extending the quarantine to 14 days for people who travel to Poland from countries outside the Schengen area. Possibility to release them from quarantine – from the eighth day after the PCR test,
Limit for meetings and celebrations (weddings, communions): Up to 100 people,
Limit of people at sports events organized outside sports facilities: 250 people,
Limit of people, among others, in shopping centers and large-format stores, gyms, fitness centers, museums: 1 person per 15 square meters.
