Janusz Żmurkiewicz, the president of Świnoujście, announced that a coronavirus was detected in him. He is at home and has no serious symptoms. He handed over the duties to the deputies. The local government official was vaccinated against COVID-19. In social media, he appealed: – Take care of yourself and be reasonable. After all, the pandemic is not over.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, after the test, I was diagnosed with coronavirus” – Janusz Żmurkiewicz, the president of Świnoujście, informed in social media. He assured that the disease was not going through hard.
“(…) I am a bit weakened and in isolation at home, I have no other symptoms. I feel fine, but this is the moment to slow down a bit” – wrote Żmurkiewicz. He handed over his official duties to the vice-presidents.

Żmurkiewicz also appealed for common sense and taking care of each other. “The pandemic is not over,” stressed the mayor of the city.
Żmurkiewicz will be in quarantine at least until September 16. A few months ago, he was vaccinated with two doses of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. – I thought I was safe. It turns out that these safety rules must be followed in any case. I am the best example of this – said the president of Świnoujście to Radio Szczecin.
