Mobile vaccination points will be protected 24/7. Such a decision was made by the police chief, who also ordered immediate protection for the remaining points where the COVID-19 vaccine can be taken. It is a reaction to the increasing attacks by anti-vaccine communities on such facilities.
The Chief of Police, General Jarosław Szymczyk, in Program 1 of the Polish Radio said that for several days there has been a growing aggression of anti-vaccine communities within vaccination points. – We are observing that this aggression is growing – he assessed.
– I want to clearly and clearly say that there will be no consent from the police to this type of behavior and our actions will be very decisive and will be a firm response to threats against (medical – ed.) Staff and people who come to these points – he said.
Szymczyk said that after talking to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, Mariusz Kamiński, “he ordered all provincial police commanders to provide 24-hour protection for mobile vaccination points and ad hoc protection for all other vaccination points.”
He assured me that in the case arson at the vaccination point and the building of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Zamość, the police are working intensively. – We receive information all the time, we examine in detail and analyze. For us, this matter is a matter of honor and prestige, and I am convinced that the best people work on it. Detaining the perpetrator is only a matter of time – he assured. Szymczyk did not disclose the details, explaining that they were kept secret. – As soon as we confirm the identity of the perpetrator, you will be informed immediately – he said.
Attacks on vaccination points
There was also another incident this week related to the activities of anti-vaccine groups. In Gdynia, they surrounded a mobile vaccination point. The police sent 15 motions for punishment to the court in this case.
In Aleksandrów Kujawski, anti-vaccinationists entered orphanage. “They just came to intimidate me and attack me.” It was a traumatic experience – said the director of the facility.
At the end of July there was a struggle in front of one of the vaccination points in Grodzisk Mazowiecki caused by anti-vaccines trying to forcibly enter the building. During the police intervention, two people were arrested: one for violating the bodily integrity of an officer, the other for insulting and making criminal threats. The two men who had been guarding the vaccination site and who had sustained minor injuries stayed decorated by the Minister of Health.
