Coronavirus in Poland. New cases of infection and death

The Ministry of Health announced 164 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday. The ministry also said that four people from COVID-19 had died within the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,883,284 infections have been confirmed in Poland, resulting in the death of 75,265 people.

Most of the 164 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection were found in in the Lesser Poland Voivodeshipwhere noted 35 infection.

The remaining infections come from the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie (22), Śląskie (19), Łódzkie (12), Podkarpackie (10), Wielkopolskie (10), Kujawsko-Pomorskie (7), Podlaskie (7), Dolnośląskie (6), Pomorskie ( 6), Lubelskie (5), Warmińsko-Mazurskie (5), Opolskie (4), Świętokrzyskie (4), Zachodniopomorskie (2), Lubuskie (1).

9 infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.

According to the Ministry of Health, four people died last day due to COVID-19. Two of them also had other conditions.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, infection with coronavirus has been confirmed in Poland in 2,883,284 people, of whom 75,265 died.

Minister of Health on the Delta variant in Poland

Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski he assured on Friday that the government is prepared for more infections. He also talked about the presence in our country of Delta, a more infectious mutation of the coronavirus.

“Looking at last month, we have already exceeded the 60 percent share of the Delta variant,” he said. – This means that the Delta variant does indeed become the dominant variant. If we look at the last week, these parameters describing the participation of the Delta variant in the total number of samples tested reach 80 percent – he said.

The Minister of Health also said that Delta dominates the Pomeranian Voivodeship to the greatest extent.
