Niedzielski: The approach to restrictions is completely different than in the previous waves
The Minister of Health in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on Wednesday stressed that he is constantly comparing the situation with what happened in September and October last year. “The last two weeks of the previous year were really exponential acceleration, we were already above the 5,000 infection limit,” he pointed out.
When asked if there were places that should be restricted, Niedzielski replied that “there is a clear variation in the country in terms of the number of infections”. – First of all, two voivodeships: Lubelskie and Podlaskie – these are the voivodships where there are more than 15 cases per 100,000, while the remaining ones are around six and below – said the Minister of Health.
– We studied the susceptibility in different regions to the most severe covid-related consequences, i.e. hospitalizations and deaths, and the two regions I am talking about are not only a matter of low vaccination level, but also the average age is relatively high – said the TVN24 guest. – When we combine these two elements, the pandemic risk associated with the worst consequences is the highest in both voivodeships – he assessed.
