Coronavirus in Poland. New cases of infection and death – October 23

The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday about 6,274 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection. The ministry also said that 75 people with COVID-19 have died. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,968,200 infections have been confirmed in Poland, 76,434 people have died due to the coronavirus.

According to the Ministry of Health’s announcement, the greatest number of new infections in the last 24 hours was confirmed in Lubelskie Voivodeship – 1446.

The remaining infections come from the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie (1254), Podlaskie (539), Małopolskie (316), Podkarpackie (296), Zachodniopomorskie (295), Wielkopolskie (290), Dolnośląskie (286), Śląskie (271), Kujawsko-Pomorskie ( 238), Łódzkie (235), Pomorskie (232), Warmińsko-Mazurskie (219), Świętokrzyskie (109), Lubuskie (95) and Opole (87).

66 infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.

A week ago, the Ministry of Health informed about 3,236 confirmed infections. In today’s report, they were recorded by Fr. 3038 more.

According to the Ministry of Health on Saturday, more have died due to COVID-19 75 people, 58 of whom had comorbidities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,968,200 infections have been confirmed in Poland, 76,434 people have died due to the coronavirus.

The epidemic data report published on Saturday showed that:

9126 beds are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+387 compared to the previous day), – of this 4559 beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients (+295), – 937 ventilators are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+27), – of which 399 respirators are currently in use (+46), – 194 705 people are in quarantine (+12 095), – 2 683 645 people recovered (+2054).

Minister of Health: from November 2, we plan to launch a referral system for the third dose of the vaccine

Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski announced on Friday on Radio Zet that from November 2, it was planned to launch a referral system for the third dose for people from 18 years of age.

– It will be issued to all citizens who meet this age requirement, which is 18 plus and six months from the last dose. In the Internet Patient Account you will be able to check, you will be able to make an appointment in a specific place, as it has worked so far – he added.

After Wednesday’s meeting of the Medical Council, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki informed that vaccinations with a booster dose for all people over 18 could start within a few weeks.
