Coronavirus in Poland. New cases of infection and death – September 13

The Ministry of Health announced 269 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection on Monday. The ministry said that no infected person died due to COVID-19 last day. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,893,919 infections have been confirmed in Poland, 75,425 people have died due to COVID-19. Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska said in Polish Radio that compared to last Monday, the number of new infections increased by 47 percent.

Most of the 269 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Lubelskie Voivodeship, where 37 infections have been reported.

The remaining infections come from the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie (35), Łódzkie (21), Małopolskie (21), Zachodniopomorskie (21), Kujawsko-Pomorskie (19), Dolnośląskie (18), Podkarpackie (18), Śląskie (17), Wielkopolskie ( 17), Pomeranian (15), Podlasie (eight), Warmian-Masurian (eight), Opole (six), Lubuskie (three) and Świętokrzyskie (two).

The three infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.

Last Monday, the Ministry of Health informed about 183 confirmed infections. In today’s report it was noted about 86 more infections.

Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska on coronavirus infections

Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska informed on Monday in the First Program of Polish Radio that if we compare the number of new coronavirus infections on this Monday with Monday last week, it turns out that there was an increase by 47%.

– This upward trend is still very large (…). This is very worrying as just a few weeks ago these percentages were at 17-19 percent if we look at week to week. At the moment, it is practically around 50 percent – he estimated. He added that the increases in new infected translate into the number of hospitalizations. – As of today, there are already 704 people who require hospitals and require medical assistance. There were 29 more of these patients during the day, he said. He emphasized that more and more patients with COVID-19 end up in intensive care units and under a ventilator. – As of today, there are 80 such people – he informed.

Kraska noted that the majority of people admitted to hospitals are unvaccinated.

As reported on Monday by the Ministry of Health, no infected person died last day due to COVID-19.

Minister of Health on the level of infections

Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski this week it signaled that the dynamics of infections in the last few days was very high. He announced that if it persisted, the 1,000,000 infections would be expected to “not be at the end of September, but within the next two weeks.”
