The Ministry of Health announced on Saturday about 917 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection. The ministry said that 20 people died last day due to COVID-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,902,591 infections have been confirmed in Poland, 75,571 people have died due to the coronavirus.
Most of the 917 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Mazowieckie voivodshipwhere 158 infections were recorded.
The remaining infections come from the following voivodeships: Lubelskie (143), Podkarpackie (85), Śląskie (73), Małopolskie (72), Podlaskie (66), Zachodniopomorskie (60), Dolnośląskie (47), Łódzkie (46), Warmińsko-Mazurskie ( 43), Kuyavian-Pomeranian (36), Greater Poland (35), Pomeranian (29), Opole (eight), Lubuskie (five) and Świętokrzyskie (two).
Nine infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.
Last Saturday, the Ministry of Health informed about 797 confirmed infections.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health: What worries us a lot is the scale of the occupancy of the beds
On Friday, in an interview with TVN24, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Wojciech Andrusiewicz, stated that “what worries us a lot is the scale of the occupancy of the beds”. – Mainly in three voivodships. In the Lublin region, it is over 41 percent of beds occupied, in the Podkarpacie region – over 33 percent, and Podlasie, which is on the border of 30 percent of the occupied beds, added to this group – Andrusiewicz mentioned. He said that “there, the voivodes make decisions on increasing the bed base on an ongoing basis”.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Health noted that “at the beginning of the month we were talking about 6013 covid beds”. – At the moment we already have 6255 of them. This means that voivodes systematically decide to increase covid beds in places where there are more patients – he said.
