The Ministry of Health announced on Friday 349 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection. The ministry said that five people died on the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,889,773 infections have been confirmed in Poland, 75,372 people have died due to COVID-19.
Most of the 349 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Mazowieckie voivodship, where 48 infections have been reported.
The remaining infections come from the following voivodeships: Małopolskie (41), Śląskie (34), Lubelskie (29), Łódzkie (26), Podkarpackie (26), Wielkopolskie (24), Zachodniopomorskie (23), Podlaskie (20), Dolnośląskie (16) , Pomeranian (16), Kuyavian-Pomeranian (15), Opole (10), Warmian-Masurian (seven), Lubuskie (five) and Świętokrzyskie (four).
The five infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.
Last Friday, the Ministry of Health informed about 258 confirmed infections. In today’s report it was noted 91 more infections.
As the health ministry said on Friday, it died last day due to COVID-19 five people. Four of them had comorbidities.

The epidemic data report released on Friday showed that:
– 6017 beds are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+4 compared to the previous day), – of this 490 beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients (+12), – 578 ventilators are intended for patients with COVID-19 (unchanged), – of this 58 respirators are currently in use (+2), – 51 790 people are quarantined (+100), – 2 657 274 people recovered (+97).
Coronavirus in Poland. Professor Horban on the numbers and restrictions of the fourth wave
Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister on COVID-19 i chairman of the Medical Council professor Andrzej Horban was a guest of the Thursday edition of “Rozmowy Piaseckiego”. When asked about the specter of the fourth wave of the COVID-19 epidemic hanging over Poland, he said that this would “probably” not pass us by. – The fact that it will not be as scary as it was especially in spring, there is of course a very good chance – he added.
When asked if it would happen because we got infected and we are vaccinated, Horban reversed the order: – We are vaccinated, some people got sick.
When asked how many infections we can expect this fall, the professor said that the numbers are difficult to quantify, but he expects it to be around 10,000 infections per day at the peak of the wave.
