Coronavirus in Poland. New cases of infection and death

The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday about 624 new, confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection and the death of another seven people. In total, in Poland, from the beginning of the epidemic, infection was confirmed in 51,791 people, of whom 1,807 died.

The health ministry informed in a Sunday announcement about 624 new, confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Poland. They concern the following voivodships: Śląskie (149), Małopolskie (108), Mazowieckie (81), Wielkopolskie (63), Pomorskie (40), Warmińsko-Mazurskie (30), Podkarpackie (28), Łódzkie (22), Lubuskie (20), Lublin (17), West Pomeranian (15), Opole (13), Dolnośląskie (12), Świętokrzyskie (11), Podlasie (10) and Kujawsko-Pomorskie (5).

That’s a lower number of infections than on Saturday, when 843 cases were reported.

The ministry also released information about the deaths of seven infected people aged 51 to 94 years. As reported, most of them had comorbidities.

In total, in Poland, from the beginning of the epidemic, infection was confirmed in 51,791 people, of whom 1,807 died.

Almost 4,900 confirmed infections in the past week

This week – from Monday, August 3 to Sunday, August 9, the Ministry of Health reported a total of 4,897 new cases of infection.

There were: on Monday – 575, Tuesday – 680, Wednesday – 640, Thursday – 726, Friday – 809, Saturday – 843, Sunday – 624.

How many people recovered? How many are quarantined?

The health ministry also published Sunday’s “coronavirus report”. It shows that:

– 1,930 “COVID-19 beds” in hospitals are occupied, – 73 respirators are in use, – 105,795 people are quarantined, – 9,227 people are under epidemiological surveillance, – 36,691 people have recovered.
