The Ministry of Health announced on Friday about 1,362 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection. The ministry said that another 16 people died due to COVID-19. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,908,432 infections have been confirmed in Poland, 75,666 people have died due to the coronavirus.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the highest number of new infections – 274 – was confirmed in Lubelskie Voivodeship.
The remaining infections come from the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie (230), Podlaskie (105), Zachodniopomorskie (105), Małopolskie (94), Podkarpackie (73), Dolnośląskie (72), Wielkopolskie (69), Śląskie (67), Łódzkie (65) , Pomeranian (53), Warmian-Masurian (48), Kujawsko-Pomorskie (37), Opolskie (18), Świętokrzyskie (18), Lubuskie (14).
20 infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.
According to the Ministry of Health on Friday, more have died due to COVID-19 16 people10 of which had comorbidities.

The epidemic data report released on Friday showed that:
– 6549 beds are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+39 compared to the previous day), – of this 1687 beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients (+73), – 658 ventilators are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+4), – of which 172 respirators are currently used (unchanged), – 87 719 people are quarantined (+2757), – 2 663 087 people recovered (+603).
Health ministry spokesman: in the coming days we will be breaking new barriers
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Wojciech Andrusiewicz, commented on the epidemic situation in Poland on Wednesday in an interview with TVN24. – We have been repeating for a long time that the end of September will be the moment when we will rather achieve this thousand infections – he said. – We must take into account that in the coming days we will be crossing more barriers – he added.
As he said, “according to the latest forecasts at our disposal, by the end of October we should reach the barrier of over 5,000 infections per day.”
Andrusiewicz recalled that the Ministry of Health emphasized that “in the event of any restrictions in individual regions, we will look at three very important data for us”. He listed the infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants, the hospitalization rate, and the vaccination rate.
