Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that a fund of PLN 7 billion will be established, thanks to which in the next few years the elements of hospital operation will be modernized – including the replacement of 90,000 hospital beds for patients.
After Tuesday’s government meeting, the prime minister stressed that the pandemic caused by the coronavirus showed how much new investments in the health service are needed.
Fund for the modernization of hospital operating elements
– Hence, as part of our activities, we are establishing a fund in the amount of PLN 7 billion, which in the next few years will serve the modernization of such elements of hospital functioning as, for example, the replacement of 90 thousand. hospital beds for patients, 4.5 thous. beds in NICUs, 400 additional ambulances and the above-mentioned ambulances, which will be the most modern, and support for emergency medical services – said Morawiecki.
Coronavirus in Poland
On Tuesday The Ministry of Health announced 285 new coronavirus infections. New infections concern people from the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie (45), Małopolskie (37), Lubelskie (28), Łódzkie (28), Zachodniopomorskie (20), Śląskie (19), Wielkopolskie (18), Podkarpackie (16), Podlaskie (16) ), Pomeranian (15), Dolnośląskie (9), Świętokrzyskie (9), Warmian-Masurian (9), Kujawsko-Pomorskie (6), Opole (5) and Lubuskie (2). No address was given in the information on the three infections. The data will be supplemented by the sanitary inspection.
Two people died of COVID-19, and three people died due to the coexistence of COVID-19 with other diseases.
In total, 2,888,670 cases have been confirmed since March 4 last year, when the first SARS-CoV-2 infection was detected in Poland. 75,345 people have died from COVID-19.
