A third dose of the coronavirus vaccine will be available to all people over 50, as well as health care workers, the government decided. Deputy Minister of Health Waldemar Kraska emphasized that vaccinations are “the only weapon” that we can use in the fight against the fourth wave of infections.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Tuesday that there was “a joint recommendation of the Council of Ministers to be able to use the so-called vaccination booster after six months in order to protect those most at risk of severe disease as much as possible”.

Third dose of coronavirus vaccine. For whom?

– Many countries have decided to administer the third dose and we also want to send this third booster dose to Poles – he informed.

The possibility of receiving the third dose of the vaccine will be made available six months after full vaccination for all people over 50 years of age. Healthcare professionals will also be able to take a third dose. Registration for the third dose vaccination is scheduled to start on September 24.

The Government Information Center on the #SzszczimySie profile specified that the third dose is mRNA preparations (i.e. the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines), regardless of the previously administered vaccines.
