On the last day, 18,550 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed, said Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska. As he added, 269 people died. – Unfortunately, I don’t have good news. That is a week-to-week increase of more than 77 percent, he admitted.
– Unfortunately, I don’t have good news. Today we have definitely more [niż wczoraj – red.]. This is 18,550 new cases of coronavirus infection. This is a week to week increase by over 77 percent – said Waldemar Kraska on Radio Zet.
269 people infected with the coronavirus have died
The deputy minister also said that “269 people have lost the fight against COVID”.
“This is the most sad number for me because I know, as a doctor, that we could have avoided these deaths,” he said. When asked what he meant, he added that “if we got vaccinated, we would have avoided this death”. – There is a simple relationship – people who are vaccinated usually do not die – he noted.
When asked what the next weeks might look like in terms of new infections, Kraska admitted that “we have another few days off, these days we are reluctant to test”. – In a week these results may be a bit smaller, because there are practically four days off from work ahead of us. It may not be so credible, but the studies we have in black scenarios say about 40,000 cases of coronavirus infection – he admitted. As he added, such results can be expected within 10 days.
– That’s not all. In addition to the high number of infected people, more and more people end up in hospitals. During the last 24 hours, 578 additional people were admitted to hospitals – he said.
