The Ministry of Health announced 7,316 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection on Monday. The ministry also said that three people with COVID-19 have died. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,111,534 infections have been confirmed in Poland, a total of 77,760 people have died due to the coronavirus.
A week ago, the Ministry of Health informed about 4,894 confirmed infections. The number of infections today is higher by 2422. That’s an increase of almost 50 percent.
According to the Ministry of Health’s announcement, the greatest number of new infections in the last 24 hours was confirmed in Masovian Voivodeship – 1878. The remaining cases concern the following voivodeships: lubelskie (730), łódzkie (519), małopolskie (494), dolnośląskie (471), śląskie (449), zachodniopomorskie (447), pomorskie (404), wielkopolskie (380), podlaskie (347), Podkarpackie (327), Kuyavian-Pomeranian (253), Warmian-Masurian (231), Świętokrzyskie (107), Opole (100) and Lubuskie (80).
99 infections are data without specifying an address, which are to be completed by the sanitary inspection.
The average number of confirmed infections per day, calculated on the basis of data from the last seven days, increased to 11,623 and is the highest since April 23.
The ministry said on Monday that three people diedall of them had comorbidities.

The Ministry of Health announced that over 37.2 thousand tests for the presence of coronavirus were performed in the last 24 hours.
Data from hospitals
Monday’s epidemic data report shows that:
– 15 677 beds are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+91 compared to the previous day), – of this 10 221 beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients (+433), – 1430 ventilators are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+18), – of which 872 respirators are currently used (+15), – 351 367 persons are quarantined (- 25 112), – 2 753 325 people recovered (+9010).
There are 10,221 people with COVID-19 in hospitals. This is twice as much as two weeks ago when 5,042 people were hospitalized.
The number of patients in hospitals exceeded 10,000 for the first time since May 19. The number of patients treated with ventilators is at its highest since May 25.
