The Ministry of Health announced on Sunday about 20,576 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection. The ministry also said that 51 people suffering from COVID-19 have died. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,507,828 infections have been confirmed in Poland, and 83,037 infected have died.

According to the Ministry of Health’s announcement, the highest number of new infections was confirmed in Mazowieckie voivodship3294.

The remaining cases concern the following voivodships: Śląskie (2775), Dolnośląskie (2047), Wielkopolskie (1909), Małopolskie (1736), Pomorskie (1250), Łódzkie (1207), Kujawsko-Pomorskie (947), Zachodniopomorskie (905), Podkarpackie (856) ), Opole (778), Lublin (763), Lubuskie (663), Warmian-Masurian (548), Podlasie (404) and Świętokrzyskie (367).

127 infections are data without specifying the address, which are to be completed by the Department of Health and Safety.

A week ago, the Ministry of Health reported 18,883 confirmed infections. Today’s infection rate is 1,693 higher. That’s an increase of nine percent.

The average number of confirmed infections daily, calculated on the basis of data from the last seven days, has exceeded 23,000 and is the highest since April 6. This means that the current, fourth wave epidemic in Poland has reached 90 percent of infections quoted at apogee second wave and 80 percent what happened at the worst third wave. During the second wave, the average peak was 25.6 thousand. cases per day, which was recorded on November 11, 2020, during the third – almost 28.9 thousand. on April 1, 2021.

The ministry said it had died 51 people suffering from COVID-19, of which 45 had comorbidities.

The average number of daily fatalities reported, also calculated from the past seven days, has risen to 316, the highest since May 12.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,507,828 infections have been confirmed in Poland, and a total of 83,037 people suffering from COVID-19 have died.

Coronavirus in Poland – data from hospitals

Sunday’s epidemic data report shows that:

26 406 beds are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+530 compared to the previous day), – of this 20 067 beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients (+360), – 2437 ventilators are intended for patients with COVID-19 (+73), – from this 1816 respirators are currently used (+64) – 684 516 people are quarantined (-60 396), – 3,000 312 people recovered (+22 204).

The number of patients in hospitals exceeded 20,000 for the first time since May 5.

The number of patients treated with ventilators has exceeded 1.8 thousand. for the first time since May 12.

The number of Poles who recovered after being infected with the coronavirus has exceeded three million.
