In Slovakia, after the introduction of a state of emergency and a partial lockdown, the local police announced on Thursday checks at border crossings – including those with Poland. Officers will check that travelers have completed an entry form, are vaccinated or prepared for a minimum 5-day quarantine.
The rules in force from midnight on Wednesday to Thursday state of emergency in Slovakia did not affect the current obligations of travelers, but the local police announced that random checks would be carried out at border crossings, including those of the lowest category, on tourist paths, bicycle routes and waterways.
Every person coming to Slovakia must fill out a special entry form, show a certificate of completed vaccination or a proof of COVID-19 infection for inspection.
Additional regulations apply to people coming from outside the Schengen area. They must present the purpose of travel, which justifies moving under the conditions of the applicable lockdown.
State of emergency in Slovakia
On Thursday, the health services specified some unclear rules of the state of emergency. Epidemic safety checks, i.e. checking covid certificates in workplaces, will start on Monday. Antigen tests will be possible.
Schools will generally remain open, but pupils will be required to wear FFP2 masks in buildings. The same obligation applies to everyone traveling by public transport, including taxis. FFP2 masks should also be worn outdoors, if it is impossible to keep a distance of at least 2 meters from other people.
Representatives of experts advising the government at a special press conference on Thursday said that the lockdown, at least in its current form, was necessary and aimed at reducing social contacts. The way out of the pandemic is to increase by 30%. the number of vaccinated people, they emphasized. Experts called on entrepreneurs to test employees more than once a week.
