We have started the redemption process from the PFR 2.0 Financial Shield for over seven thousand small and medium-sized enterprises – said Bartosz Marczuk, vice president of the Polish Development Fund. He explained that companies that received more support than their losses in the pandemic are to return the surplus by March 15, 2022.
PFR 2.0 Financial Shield – redemptions
The vice president indicated that the deadline by which entrepreneurs who suffered the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic will be able to settle the surplus from aid from the PFR 2.0 Financial Shield has been extended. Originally, this deadline was planned for January 31, 2022, but at the initiative of the Ministry of Development and Technology and PFR, it was extended by the Council of Ministers until March 15, 2022. – The point is that the need to repay does not disturb the financial liquidity of entrepreneurs who may still feel the effects of the pandemic, explained the vice president. He added that it was the result of consultations with the business community and the implementation of their demands.
He indicated that the first stage of redemptions, which has just started, concerns SMEs, i.e. entrepreneurs with 10 to 249 employees. He recalled that these entrepreneurs, after the launch of Shield 2.0 (launched on January 15 this year), could apply for support from PFR, predicting and calculating the loss they will incur as a result of closing the companies. Now, he said, they should account for it, proving that they actually suffered such losses, and if they received more than the financial data indicated, they must return the surplus they received. He added that settling entrepreneurs must submit statements on settlements and attach appropriate JPK files to them in the form of attachments. Settlements are made at banks where companies applied for subsidies.
The first stage of redemptions
Marczuk pointed out that this is the first stage of canceling subsidies from Shield 2.0, and submitting statements for the Ministry of Treasury will last until January 15, 2022. The second, covering micro-enterprises, will start on January 19 and will last until the end of February 2022. In this case – as he pointed out – companies will only have to submit declarations regarding the receipt of activities and employment, which will be verified by PFR.
The third stage, i.e. redemption decisions, will be issued in April next year. – If it turns out that, after our verification, small and medium-sized enterprises or micro-enterprises will have to return some part of the subsidy, they will have time to do so until May 31 next year – he said. He reminded that, as a rule, redemption for companies that meet the conditions set out in the PFR regulations is 100%.
