Covid-19. “MAC address” and vaccines. Another false theory about the pandemic

The authors of the video distributed on social media argue that along with the COVID-19 vaccine, a “MAC address” is introduced into the body. This message is a variation on a conspiracy theory about powerful forces that are chipping humanity to take over the world.

110 thousand views and 3.3 thousand. The response has a nearly 20-minute excerpt from the 2022 Spanish documentary “The Big Reset Movie. An uncensored documentary about the truth of the pandemic” published on Facebook. “Folia: MAC address, and pinches…” – this is how an Internet user described them in a post from May 3 (original spelling of posts). A shorter clip of the same video has been circulating on Twitter from May 14. However, there he was less popular – he has 8.7 thousand. views.

The video reproduces the false theory about the “MAC address” in COVID-19 vaccinesFacebook

In a video posted on Facebook, several men repeat conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccinations. For example, we learn that together with the vaccine, a substance is introduced into the human body that generates a MAC address, which allegedly allows the subsequent identification of the vaccinated person. The authors of the film admit that they do not know what the purpose of such action would be – but they claim that the matter requires clarification. “It’s unimaginable what is happening to the whole world right now”; “My Xiaomi shows 3 different codes, and there are now 3 neighbors at home” – commented the recording of Internet users.

The theory about the MAC address in vaccines is, of course, nonsense. So are the other false claims in this video. We explain.

MAC address, or the conspiracy theory about chips in vaccines

A MAC address (media access control address) is a unique hexadecimal number assigned to a device on a network. It allows for its identification. The fragment of the film translated into Polish shows that together with the vaccine, a substance enters the human body, which, when combined with DNA, creates such an address. How would that happen? unknown. Later, the address would be used, for example, to track people. The authors of the film try to prove it in a special experiment – they claim that unique codes can be seen on devices equipped with Bluetooth.

[Numer] is unique and unrepeatable. For some helmets, tablets, microwaves, and also for the man who got vaccinated.

We haven’t found any evidence of a technology that involves creating a MAC address by contacting a substance with human DNA. The fact that the film is unreliable and repeats false information is evidenced by the schemes used in similar productions: – creating an atmosphere of mystery and scandal around COVID-19 vaccinations; – making allegations without presenting credible evidence; – convincing that someone (who knows who, the mysterious “they”) would use vaccinations to control or supervise people.

These are tracings of a well-known conspiracy theory about chips in vaccines. Already in May 2020 we described the posts published by social media users – their authors linked plans to allegedly chip humanity with the actions of billionaire Bill Gates. “Forced chipping of the population is coming soon” – one of the Facebook pages stated. This was a reference to the Gates-funded study of a vaccination tool that was supposed to leave an invisible mark on patients’ skin. But the study was theoretical, it did not involve introducing any devices into the human body. In the following months of the pandemic, fake news circulated in social media – further alleged evidence was published, for example about a Russian hacker who allegedly broke into a database of COVID-19 vaccinated. It turned out to be an IT joke.

Graphene in a vaccine? A photo under a microscope that proves nothing

In the now popular video, there is also a statement by a Spanish scientist who argues that he has detected graphene particles in a COVID-19 vaccine in a microscopic examination. He was to confirm the findings in an additional study using one of the spectroscopic techniques. The video shows pictures taken under a microscope – it is supposed to be an image of one of the vaccines, which shows graphene-like shapes.

Graphene is allegedly visible in the microphotograph of the vaccine shown in the film. It’s not trueFacebook

Also about these microphotographs we wrote in Konkret24. False information about the presence of graphene or graphene oxide in the vaccine was then widely distributed on forums of vaccination skeptics. However, experts explained that the presented “analysis” proves nothing: neither graphene nor graphene oxide is present in COVID-19 vaccines. All manufacturers of these preparations available in the European Union have made public information about their composition. Contrary to sensational messages, no “researcher” has proven the presence of graphene in COVID-19 vaccines.

Did the Spanish scientist succeed using one of the spectroscopic techniques? WITH answers EU Commissioner Stella Kyriakides from March 2022, in response to a question from one of the MEPs, shows that the European Medicines Agency has analyzed reports suggesting the presence of graphene in COVID-19 vaccines – and concluded that the currently available data do not confirm this. The analysis by EMA’s biologics working group also included studies using Raman spectroscopy, which is mentioned in a popular video.

Planned pandemic, depopulation – tracings of known conspiracy theories

The video now being distributed in May also repeats other false theories – for example, about an allegedly deliberately planned pandemic. “It was not the vaccine that solved the problem of the pandemic. On the contrary – the pandemic was created to be able to vaccinate people” – says one of the heroes. Another man repeats the false theory of planned depopulation: “For 12, 13 years we have been told that there are too many people on earth. The same people want to vaccinate us.”

These are references to theories repeated since 2020 on internet forums of pandemic skeptics. In November 2020, we wrote about groups and Facebook pages dedicated to the New World Order conspiracy theory – thousands of people in Poland were discussing it at the time. It was on these forums that there were posts suggesting that the pandemic is in fact a camouflaged operation to kill millions of people and take over the world. Also, the authors of the video in question are trying to sow uncertainty and fear without showing any evidence. They also repeat other unconfirmed theories – we denied all of them in Konkret24: about the alleged one vaccine failuresabout senselessness wearing protective masks or the thesis that COVID-19 is actually the flu.
