CPK. Profit of PLN 28 million for 2022 vs. PLN 169 million loss for 2021

PLN 28 million profit for 2022 compared to PLN 169 million loss for 2021 was recorded by Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, Andrzej Alot, Vice-President for Financial Affairs, reported. The company employed 638 people last year, compared to 493 a year earlier. As a result, the amount allocated to employee remuneration also increased from PLN 45 million to PLN 66 million.

Alot added that the company’s profit is the result of i.a. acquisition of land from the National Property Resources (KZN) and the National Support Center for Agriculture (KOWR) of land, later offered to residents of the area of ​​the future airport as replacement real estate. – In 2022, the revenue that CPK recorded from the free acceptance of real estate from the State Treasury reached PLN 124 million – indicated on Wednesday the vice-president of Alot.

Revenue reached over PLN 60 million

As he said, the company “unlike the previous year, i.e. 2021, which closed with a loss of PLN 169 million, in 2022 it recorded a profit of PLN 28 million.” He noted that in 2022, expenditure on the implementation of airport and railway investments increased significantly, which – in his opinion – significantly accelerated. – Last year, capital expenditures amounted to PLN 463 million, and in 2021 it was about PLN 69 million – said Alot. According to him, financial revenues in 2022 reached PLN 63.7 million. – This is the effect of the increase in the value of bonds in the portfolio of the CPK company resulting from the approaching redemption date and changes in market expectations as to the future level of interest rates he explained.

Employment and remuneration at the STH

The Vice-President said that at the end of 2022, employment in the company increased to 638 people compared to 493 in 2021. He added that within 12 months, the company was joined by, among others: more engineers, architects, lawyers, IT specialists, public procurement specialists, real estate acquisition specialists, track infrastructure design specialists. As a result, the amount allocated to employee remuneration also increased from PLN 45 million to PLN 66 million. – We forecast that there will be further increases in employment, but it will be an organic growth – he said. – Remuneration of Management Board members in 2022 amounted to PLN 2.4 million compared to PLN 2 million in 2021 – said Alot. As he explained, the increase in salary is due to the bonus, in 2021 there was no bonus. Last year the board consisted of three people, now there are four. In turn, the remuneration of the supervisory board reached PLN 191,000. PLN against 144 thou. PLN a year earlier. The increase in the remuneration of members of the management board results from the payment of variable remuneration in 2022, the vice-president announced.

The CPK is to be launched in 2028

Central Communication Port is a planned transfer hub between Warsaw and Łódź, which will integrate air, rail and road transport. As part of this project, 37 km west of Warsaw, in the area of ​​approx. ha, an airport is to be built, which in the first stage will be able to handle up to 40 million passengers a year. The STH will also include railway investments: a junction in the immediate vicinity of the airport and connections throughout the country, which will enable travel between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in no more than 2.5 hours. The CPK is to be launched in 2028 together with the railway junction and the Warsaw-Łódź High Speed ​​Railway section. The rest of the CPK railway investments are planned until the middle of the next decade. The CPK company is 100% owned by the State Treasury
