A teenager walked through Jana Pawła II Avenue in Krakow under a moving tram. According to the Municipal Transport Company, the girl was staring at the phone at the time of the accident. The 15-year-old was taken to the hospital, and traffic at the scene was stopped for about 10 minutes.

According to witnesses, the girl was crossing the tracks and was staring at the smartphone. The same information was provided by the Krakow MPK in social media. “The victim is a 15-year-old girl. According to the information we have, she was crossing the tracks staring at the smartphone screen.” – we read in the message.

MPC calls for caution

It was at a pedestrian crossing, the red pedestrian lights were supposed to be on. The girl – as described by witnesses – hit the side of the vehicle, suffered a head injury.

“We appeal to everyone and once again we ask – when crossing the tracks, let’s make sure that we have the green light and let’s get away from the smartphone screen for a few seconds at least…” – announced MPK.
