Cracow. A drunk driver was transporting passengers to Katowice by a faulty bus

The driver of a bus carrying 12 passengers from Krakow to Katowice had two per mille of alcohol in the body. The vehicle had a damaged windshield and was unfit for further driving due to technical deficiencies.

On Sunday (July 2), after 9 am, police officers stopped a bus heading towards Katowice at Pasternik Street in Krakow – the vehicle had a damaged windshield.

Police: the driver was drunk and the bus was out of order

During the actions of the police officers, the driver of the vehicle, in which there were 12 passengers, passed a sobriety test. He turned out to be completely drunk. The 58-year-old was driving a bus with two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

“The driver’s license was suspended, and the owner of the company was informed about the whole situation, who directed another driver to the place. However, the bus could not continue driving with passengers due to the retention of the registration certificate due to technical deficiencies” – we read in the release of the Lesser Poland Police.

According to the uniform, driving while intoxicated is punishable by up to two years in prison. “The 58-year-old may also lose his driving license for up to 15 years, and thus his source of income” – emphasized in the release.
