The director of the Słowacki Theater in Krakow decided to move the Flag of Ukraine, which hung with Poland in front of the building, inside. It happened after a few days ago she was broken by the supporter of Grzegorz Braun and “Kamrat”, while dirtying historic walls and destroying the glass roof. There were also threats.

Above the entrance to the Słowacki Theater in Krakow, two flags – Poland and Ukraine fluttered. For some time, inspired by patostreamers and Grzegorz Braun, the man has been publishing recordings in social media, which shows how he climbs on various buildings, downloading Ukrainian flags – this was, among others, in the case of the building of the Gymnastic Society “Sokół” at ul. Piłsudski in Krakow.

On Saturday (June 14) in the evening he climbed the front facade of the Słowacki Theater, one of the most important cultural centers in Krakow, and took off the Ukrainian flag. As it turned out, he was damaged by a glass roof, which broke while climbing a man. In addition, he dirty the facade with his shoes. The losses are to be over PLN 800.

Threats to the director of the Słowacki Theater

– The flag is one of our many Solidarity gestures with the Ukrainian people. On Monday, she was prepared and suspended again. Shortly afterwards, director Krzysztof Głuchowski received a telephone that if the flag does not disappear within half an hour, a group of people who “do order with the theater” appears. These are not the first threats directed at our theater – said tvn24.pl Edyta Sotowska -Śmiełek, deputy director of the Slovak theater for marketing communication.

– The building is a unique monument, of course it is under conservation supervision, and the renovation of this historic essence consumes millions of zlotys. Theater is a national institution. It is amazing that those who have national values ​​on their lips can also devastate the national good – added Sotowska -Śmiełek.

The man was detained

Both breaking the flag, damage to the roof and threats were reported by the theater management to the police.

– Shortly after this disturbing phone, a group of people began to gather in the area. Fortunately, however, at that time there were police officers who conducted activities and no assembly occurred – noted the deputy director of the theater.

Commissioner Piotr Szpiech, press officer of the Krakow police, confirmed in a conversation with us that the police detained a man who was to break the Ukrainian flag. According to investigative findings, it was most likely that the same man later called Głuchowski's director.

According to our information, the man was detained in Pomerania.

– When it comes to threats, we conduct activities in terms of article 191 of the Penal Code, which speaks of forcing to specific behavior by unlawful threat – said Kom.

The crime described by a spokesman for the Krakow police is punishable by up to three years imprisonment. As the prank explained, the detained man can also be responsible for disturbing the house. For this crime is punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty or a year in prison. The man will soon be brought to the prosecutor's office.
