The police detained a Georgian citizen who was supposed to attack the man and take his phone. The assault allegedly took place in a taxi after the end of the course. In addition to the stolen phone, drugs – marijuana and mephedrone – were found in the car. The 29-year-old was arrested.
The robbery took place on April 15 in Krakow. In the early hours of the morning, the injured man asked for a taxi driver from the corporation “to the application”. The passenger wanted to pay by card, but the driver demanded cash.
“There was a fight, there were fisticuffs. The driver hit the passenger several times with a hard object, then took his mobile phone and drove away in an unknown direction,” according to the police.
Stopping the driver
The victim reported the case to the VI Police Station in Kraków. The officers arrested the driver on the same day. “During the search of the vehicle, the police officers found a stolen phone. This is not the only find that interested the criminals, as they found mephedrone and marijuana in the car. The driver of the car was detained and transported to the police unit,” reads the release.
The man was charged with armed robbery and drug possession. The police check whether the driver was employed by the company offering transport at all.
“It turned out that the company car was not assigned to him and maybe that’s why he absolutely wanted to pay in cash” – indicate the police. The 29-year-old was temporarily arrested for three months and faces up to 12 years in prison.
