They met through a dating app and arranged their first meeting at a hotel in Krakow’s Podgórze. Instead of a romantic night, the 31-year-old was in for an unpleasant surprise. He was sprayed with pepper spray and lost PLN 500. The 20-year-old woman he was dating was charged with armed robbery.

A 20-year-old from Krakow and a 31-year-old resident of the Lubelskie Voivodeship met through a dating application. In mid-March, they made an appointment at one of the hotels in Podgórze in Krakow. However, the date did not go as planned for the man who was in for an unpleasant surprise in the room hotel.

The police: sprayed the gas, took the money

Upon arrival, the 31-year-old met his “date”, but she apparently had no romantic intentions towards him.

– The girl with whom he made an appointment attacked him with pepper spray, took the 500 zlotys that belonged to him and left the hotel in a hurry – said junior inspector Sebastian Gleń, press officer of the Lesser Poland Police, in a message.

The police are looking for the victims

After the incident, the injured man went to the police station at Zamoyskiego Street and told the officers about the whole incident there. The uniforms, based on the collected information, determined the woman’s identity and a few days later detained her in the area of ​​Podgórze. At the police station, the 20-year-old gave evidence and admitted to the alleged acts.

– Investigators check whether the 20-year-old has no more attacks of this type on amateurs of social meetings – said Gleń.

The District Prosecutor for Kraków Podgórze applied police supervision and a financial surety against the woman. She faces up to 12 years in prison for the robbery.
