During the exotic animal fair in Kraków’s Czyżyny district, the police detained the owner of one of the stands. It turned out that the man was selling the remains of protected animals. In his possession were, among others, a fetus of a boa snake, a hawk’s paw and snake skeletons, as well as live animals.

The fair during which the incident occurred was held on Sunday. Police officers from the 8th Police Station in Krakow went to the site because there was a suspicion that illegal trade in animals covered by the Washington Convention “CITES” was taking place there.

“As the officers determined, one of the sellers offers carcasses and trophies of game animals in the form of animal skulls, as well as prepared skins and skeletons of snakes without legalization documents,” we read in the release.
