Krakow officers prevented the smuggling of approximately 10 kilograms of marijuana and detained the suspect. The drugs were smuggled from Spain in a cable reel. Their value was estimated at approximately PLN 450,000. The man has already been charged.
On December 22, Krakow police officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation detained a man who was receiving a shipment of drugs.
Officers under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Kraków are investigating an organized criminal group whose members are involved in drug crime, mainly intra-Community smuggling of narcotic drugs.
Shipment from Spain
“While carrying out activities in the case, the police obtained information that one of the residents of Krakow may be smuggling drugs,” we read in the police statement.
The officers suspected that the man might be smuggling drugs using an industrial cable drum, inside which there was a space for hiding drugs. He allegedly used transport companies by commissioning them to transport cables mounted on a reel.
On December 22, police detained a man while receiving a parcel with hidden contents from an unaware carrier. The transport arrived from Spain.
During the search, the officers found and seized approximately 10 kilograms of marijuana worth approximately PLN 450,000 in a reel. The drugs were vacuum packed in ten bags.
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Kraków charged the man with intra-Community smuggling of narcotic drugs. The court imposed pre-trial detention on him. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
