First, the police received a report that a car had disappeared from the parking lot, and then that a Renault driver had filled up at a nearby gas station and left without paying. A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with both thefts.

Krakow police officers received a report of a theft of a car from a parking lot in the Ugorek area on March 25. Officers from the Car Crimes Unit rushed to the spot. At that time, however, they received information about another crime.

“The duty officer received a report that at one of the gas stations in the area of ​​Mogilska Street, the Renault driver refueled and left without paying. The registration number of the vehicle corresponded to the stolen one” – according to the Krakow police.

A stolen car was spotted on one of the streets in downtown. “Criminal investigators (…) began checking the buildings and places in the vicinity of the vehicle where the wanted person could hide. After 11.00 p.m., a man matching the thief’s description was arrested when he was leaving one of the blocks,” according to the police. Then it turned out that the 35-year-old was banned from driving for life by the court.

The man explained. He will be responsible for theft with burglary in recidivism, driving despite revoked license and theft of fuel. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
