A 45-year-old resident of Elbląg, who behaved aggressively during a flight from Bristol to Krakow, is to pay a fine of PLN 10,000 and a compensation of PLN 1,500 for the attacked officer. The man did not follow the crew's orders and tried to destroy the plane's window during the journey, and then attacked the border guards.

On Tuesday morning, the captain of a scheduled plane flying from British Bristol to Krakow asked border guard officers for help. The crew needed help in dealing with a passenger who was behaving aggressively, did not listen to employees' orders and tried to damage the window during the flight.

After the plane landed, border guards boarded. However, the 45-year-old from Elbląg did not follow their orders.

A resident of Elbląg was charged

“There was also a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. Moreover, the aggressive man violated the officer's bodily integrity,” said Justyna Drożdż from the Carpathian border guard unit in a statement. The officers overpowered the 45-year-old and handcuffed him.

The man was detained for violating the bodily integrity of an officer. It is a crime punishable by a fine, restriction of liberty or even three years in prison. “The resident of Elbląg heard the accusation, confessed to the alleged act, voluntarily submitted to a fine of PLN 10,000 and compensation to the officer in the amount of PLN 1,500,” Drożdż said.
