The Krakow City Hall warns dog owners. Poisoned food was scattered in several points of the city. The police check such applications, some are true. A map was created, on which places to find suspicious substances are placed.
The warning against “poison hidden in food” was published on the website of the Krakow magistrate on Friday. The Kraków Association for residents has prepared a map on which places where the poison was to be scattered.
“Incidents of deliberate animal poison were recorded, among others, around the streets: Rusznikarska, Wybickiego, Krowoderskie Zuchów, Battalion 'Skała', in Krowoderski Park and on the Squadron of 303” – says the City Hall. In the communiqué, we also read that the poison is very dangerous and some dogs did not survive the contact with her.

Among the symptoms that should alert the owners of quadrupeds, officials mention apathy, lethargy, vomiting and lack of appetite.
Police: more applications, two confirmed
The first signals that someone is trying to poison animals appeared on Tuesday. An entry on this topic was published by the Krakow Society for the Care of Animals. However, when we contacted Piotr Szpiech, a press officer of the Krakow police that day, it turned out that no official report had been received.
On Friday, we asked the policeman the same question. It turned out that although there is still no confirmed case of poisoning the dog, the poison turned out to be a fact.
– There was one such suspicion (poisoning the dog – ed.), But the veterinarian after the examination excluded that he was poisoned. There were also cases that someone reported, we took action, we made contact with veterinarians to determine the cause of dog death. In one case, we received information that it was not caused by poisoning, and in the other, that the dog died because it was already age -old – reports prank.

Is the street poison then another urban legend? Not really. – Yesterday we had an increased number of interventions, people reported to us suspicions that food mixed with poison was scattered. In two cases we have confirmation – a spokesman said on Friday. There was a fire brigade with a mobile laboratory, in which samples of suspicious substances were tested.
The policeman points out that the majority of reported substances are not poisonous for animals – he says, among others, about the spilled cosmetic substance, animal excrement and sawdust.

Trutka in Nowa Huta
One of the confirmed entries concerned the Zielona housing estate in Nowa Huta. Mr. Łukasz submitted them.
– This poison was targeted when I was walking with the dog. I called the police through 112, a patrol came. A bit sad and reluctant, but I pressed them to secure it. The fire brigade also arrived – reports the man in an interview with tvn24.pl.
The description of the witness shows that after about an hour after determining that a suspicious substance may actually be poisonous, a mobile chemical laboratory appeared on the spot. – Then I went away, but I know that it was confirmed that it was a ratty or mice poison – says a resident of Krakow. Confirmation that the preparation found on Thursday in Huta was actually poisonous, we also obtained from the police.

Mr. Łukasz emphasizes that this is not a new problem. As he says, on the local group on Facebook one of the neighbors described that one of her dogs died within a few days, and the other managed to save it with difficulty. Both were to poison something on a walk. – In both dogs, what has already appeared in a dozen or so dogs in Krakow: bloody vomiting and diarrhea, apathy and degradation of the whole body – describes our interlocutor.
Importantly, poison from the estate Green was mixed with grain. Piotr Szpiech from the Krakow police points out that the person who scattered her could have been to kill birds or rodents, not dogs. However, this does not change the fact that a dog sniffing on the lawn would also be exposed to poisoning.
