A fire broke out at a Russian military base in the occupied Crimea. According to Ukrainian media, there was an explosion of an ammunition depot near the city of Stary Krym. Local authorities, supported by Russia, announced the evacuation of about two thousand people and the temporary closure of a section of a nearby motorway.

Reuters reports that the occupation administration of Crimea reported a fire in the Kirov region (district). Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that explosions were heard in the military areas there.

The occupation authorities ordered the evacuation of over two thousand people from nearby areas.

The Ukrinform agency reported, citing social media, that an ammunition depot exploded at the training ground near the village of Krynyczky, near the city of Stary Krym.

Sergei Aksyonov, the governor of the occupied Crimea, backed by Moscow, said that a section of the nearby highway had been temporarily closed.
