Explosions were heard in Russian-occupied Sevastopol on Sunday night. According to the so-called authorities of the annexed Crimea appointed by Moscow, the city was attacked by “hostile drones”.

“The air defense forces and the fleet are repelling the attack of enemy drones on Sevastopol over the sea in the region of Chersonesos, the Gulf of Sevastopol and Balaklava. All city services are on standby. We are keeping calm,” the so-called governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Ravozhayev wrote on Sunday morning on the Telegram channel.

“It’s loud in Sevastopol! You can hear the work of the air defense forces Russiaat least twice,” reported Vladimir Rogov, a Russian collaborator in the Zaporizhia region.

The Russian Telegram channel “Shot” also wrote about the explosions in Sevastopol. “A massive drone attack by the Ukrainian armed forces was repelled in Sevastopol. One UAV was shot down by air defense forces, another five were intercepted by electronic warfare troops. The (Russian) fleet destroyed two ground drones. No objects in the city and in the water basin were damaged.” Shot wrote.

In a later report, “Shot” added that “according to updated data, another drone was shot down near Cape Manganari in Sevastopol.”

“It’s quiet in the city”

The Reuters agency also reported on the Ukrainian attack on Sevastopol, which reported that the Russian air defense forces and fleet in the Black Sea intercepted nine Ukrainian drones over Sevastopol on Sunday morning.

The agency referred to Razzozhayev, who in the next information about the night attack said that “it is calm in the city.”

The Reuters agency reported that there was no comment on the drone attack from the Ukrainian side.

Ukraine almost never publicly admits responsibility for attacks in Russia or on Russian-controlled territory in Ukraine,” Reuters recalled, adding that in recent months, officials in Kiev admitted that “the destruction of Russian military infrastructure helps the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces.” .

The Crimean peninsula was annexed by Russia in 2014.
