From 7.00 am on Tuesday, the border traffic at the road crossing in Kuźnica has been suspended until further notice. Travelers should go to the border crossings in Terespol and Bobrowniki, the Border Guard informed.
This is an effect of the situation on the border with Belarus, where on Monday there were multiple attempts to force the border crossing by migrants who gathered near the border crossing in Kuźnica.
On Tuesday at At 4:00 p.m., the Sejm will meet, during which it will hear the government’s information on the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border.
Border crossing in Kuźnica – traffic suspended
The Border Guard informed about the suspension of traffic at the crossing in Kuźnica on Monday evening. “Due to the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, from 07.00 on November 9 this year, the border traffic at the road border crossing in Kuźnica will be suspended until further notice. Travelers should go to the border crossing in Terespol and Bobrowniki – we read on the website and in SG social media.
Spokeswoman of the Border Guard, 2nd Lt. Anna Michalska said that the passage would be closed in both directions. However, the railway crossing is to operate.
Crisis on the border with Belarus
On Monday morning, the media published information about a large group of migrants planning to cross the Belarusian border with Poland. Migrants are located in the vicinity of Kuźnica. The Ministry of National Defense informed in the afternoon that the Ministry of Interior and Administration and soldiers had managed to stop the first mass attempt to cross the border. Currently, migrants have set up a camp in the Kuźnica region. They are guarded by the Belarusian services.

Since the spring, the number of attempts to illegally cross the Belarusian border with Lithuania, Latvia and Poland by migrants from the Middle East, Africa and other regions has increased sharply. The EU and its member states believe that this is the result of the deliberate actions of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s regime, which instrumentally uses migrants in response to sanctions.
From the beginning of the year, the Border Guard recorded over 30,000. attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border. Recently, there have been attempts to forcibly enter the territory of Poland by foreigners grouped by the Belarusian services abroad, as well as provocation by these services.
