Polish services on Thursday evening intervened twice on the border with Belarus, said a spokesman for the Podlasie police. He added that in the Kuźnica region, the Belarusian army tried to force 35 people to the Polish side, mostly women and children. A group of about a hundred foreigners also gathered at the Polish border near Połowce. The Polish army and police intervened there.
Tomasz Krupa, spokesman of the Podlasie police, informed about the evening interventions of Polish services on the border. He reported that on Thursday around 8 p.m. in the Kuźnica area, the Belarusian army tried to force 35 people, mostly women and children, through the fence to the Polish side. The attempt was thwarted by police, Border Guard and soldiers. He added that at present there is a group of about 200 people in this place, constantly guarded by Belarusian soldiers.
The Ministry of National Defense publishes the recording
On Thursday evening, the Ministry of National Defense wrote in social media that “in the Kuźnica region, a group of women and children was moved to the fence, only so that the Belarusian services could prepare propaganda material”. “Migrants are treated by the Lukashenka regime in an instrumental manner,” indicated the ministry, also posting a recording on Twitter, which is supposed to come from the scene of the incident.
At the same time, a group of about 100 people gathered at the border section near Połowce (Podlaskie Voivodeship) on the Belarusian side. These people did not attempt to cross the border. On the spot on the Polish side, several dozen Polish policemen intervened along with officers of the Border Guard and the Polish Army.
Crisis on the border with Belarus
On Monday morning, the media published information about a large group of migrants walking on the Belarusian side towards the border with Poland. Migrants gathered in the vicinity of Kuźnica. The Ministry of National Defense informed in the afternoon that the services of the Ministry of Interior and Administration and soldiers had managed to stop the first mass attempt to cross the border. The migrants have set up a camp in the Kuźnica region, they are guarded by the Belarusian services.
Since September 2, due to the migratory pressure, a state of emergency has been in force in 183 towns in the Podlaskie and Lubelskie provinces adjacent to the border with Belarus. A dam is to be built on the border with Belarus in the first half of 2022.
When reporting on the events at the border, the media can use almost exclusively official government recordings and information. Journalists have no access to the area covered by the state of emergency.
