One of the soldiers who tried to stop those crossing the Polish-Belarusian border was stabbed. This morning, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Czesław Mroczek provided this information. The spokeswoman for the Podlasie Border Guard Branch, Major Katarzyna Zdanowicz, told TVN24 that there are not many details about the incident yet.

– Today I received very bad information in the morning that one of the soldiers who tried to stop those crossing the border was stabbed – he said.

Deputy minister: migration pressure is increasing

He noted that the ministry is taking action to protect soldiers, policemen and border guards, because, as he explained, all these formations perform tasks related to the security of the border and our country.

– Migration pressure is increasing and the aggression of these people is increasing. They are trying to force the border in large groups, which are formed thanks to the support of the Belarusian services, Mroczek said.

Since the beginning of the year, over 13 thousand attempts to illegally cross the border

Data from the Podlasie Border Guard Branch show that since the beginning of the year, over 13,000 cases have been recorded on the border section in this region. attempts to illegally cross the border with Belarus to Poland.

On the 186 km long border with Belarus, there is a 5.5 m high steel dam, built in 2022. It is the main element of securing this border against illegal migration. It is complemented by the so-called – operating at 206 km in Podlasie. electronic barrier, i.e. a system of cameras and sensors.

There will be more cameras

Border Guard selected and signed a contract with the contractor of such an electronic barrier also on the Bug along the border with Belarus in the Lublin Voivodeship. Protection is to be built on 172 kilometers. It is planned to install, among others: approx. 4.5 thousand day-night and thermal cameras and 1.8 thousand camera poles. The supervision center will be established at the headquarters of the Bug River Border Guard Branch in Chełm.

An electronic barrier is also to be built on the border rivers Świsłocz and Istoczanka in Podlasie. On a section of approximately 47 km, approximately 500 poles with thousands of day-night and thermal cameras will be built, as well as a network of sensors.

Operation “Sluice” – a crisis caused by Lukashenko

Migration crisis on the borders of Belarus with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia was triggered by Alexander Lukashenko, who is accused of waging a hybrid war. It involves the organized transfer of migrants to the territory of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. During over 28 years of his rule, Lukashenko has often threatened Europe with weakening border control.

The operation of bringing migrants to Belarus from the Middle East or Africa in order to cause a migration crisis was previously described on his blog by Tadeusz Giczan, a journalist from the Belarusian opposition channel Nexta. He explained that the Belarusian services are conducting the “Sluice” operation invented 10 years ago. Under the guise of trips to Minsk and promising to transfer to Western Europe, the Lukashenko regime brought thousands of migrants to Belarus. Then he transports them to the borders of EU countries, where Belarusian services force them to cross them illegally. This operation is still ongoing.
