Two Italian tourists who ordered a taxi to the airport in Split, Croatia, on Sunday were charged 550 euros. The ride lasted half an hour and the taxi driver covered 25 kilometers. The case was covered by Italian media. Local newspapers note that the country lacks regulations governing fees for such services.

According to the report of the Croatian television N1, the trip took place on Sunday. Two tourists from Italian They ordered a taxi to Split Airport. After driving 25 kilometers and arriving at their destination, they gave the driver their credit card. He allegedly charged them 550 euros (equivalent to 2,365 zÅ‚oty). When the young women saw the bill, they burst into tears, Croatian television reported. Media reports that the women could also have gotten to the airport using public transport. They decided against this option because they were afraid they would miss their flight. The daily “Jutarnji” reports that “steps have been taken to rectify the situation and provide justice to the passengers.” However, it does not specify who took the steps or what they will involve.
