A cyber attack took place at the Polish Space Agency Polsa. Shortly after detecting burglary into computer systems, the agency was disconnected from the Internet. The investigation has started, who is responsible for this action.
Services responsible for cyber security detected a cyber attack on the systems of the Polish Space Agency Polsa – the Minister of Digitization said on Sunday Krzysztof Gawkowski. Polsa confirms the incident, the agency systems have been disconnected from the Internet.
As he wrote, the services detected “unauthorized access to the ICT infrastructure of the Polish Space Agency.” Gawkowski assured that in connection with the incident, the systems covered by the attack were secured, and CSIRT NASK (Computer Security Incident Response Team of the Scientific and Academic Computer Network) together with CSIRT MON (Ministry of National Defense) supports Polsa in activities that are to restore the operational functioning of the agency.

Polsa confirmed that a cyber security incident occurred. The relevant services and institutions have been informed, an analysis of the situation is underway, and in order to secure data after burglary, the Polsa network was immediately disconnected from the Internet – the agency said.
Gawkowski, in turn, emphasized that intensive operational activities are also conducted to identify who is behind the cyber attack, he also announced that further information will be published on a regular basis.
The Polish Space Agency (Polsa) is the executive agency of the Ministry of Development and Technology, established in 2014. Its task is to support the Polish space industry. Polsa cooperates with international agencies and state administration in the field of research and use of space.
