Over 60 interventions by firefighters in the Lębork district

According to senior captain Marcin Elwart, press officer of the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Lębork, after 10 am on Saturday, firefighters intervened 64 times from Friday to 7 pm. – Our activities are mainly based on removing the effects of strong wind, i.e. fallen trees and branches that fell on the streets, cars and garbage cans. The reports also include damaged roofs, he said.

“Fortunately, there were no casualties in our district at this time,” he added.

The PSP spokesman, brigadier Karol Kierzkowski, said that there were situations in the Lębork district where “trains had to stop temporarily”. – Unfortunately, this will be the case, because trees or pieces of structural elements of the building also fall on the tracks – he explained.

A tree fell on a car also in the town of Przywidz in the Gdańsk district, as one of the Reporters of the 24th informed us.

The number of interventions is growing

Up to 3.8 thousand the number of firefighting interventions has increased due to the Ulf low that has been passing through Poland since Friday.

Most reports about the effects of storms, over 1.5 thousand, were received from the province of Pomeranian – informed the spokesman of the chief commander of the State Fire Service Brig. Karol Kierzkowski.

Fire brigade only on Saturday from midnight to 10 a.m. 13 in connection with the storms intervened 2907 times, and on Friday – 906 times. In total, it recorded 3,813 notifications.

Firefighters mainly go to fallen trees, broken branches, damaged buildings and hazards that storms have caused on the roads.
