To get to the debate, you have to be smart, understand the questions, formulate brilliant answers, make speeches that reach seven million people listening, you have to not be afraid of people, be sure of your reasons – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty, one of the leaders of the Left, in Radom on Friday, commenting on the decision Jarosław Kaczyński about his lack of participation in the debate organized by TVP. Another of the group’s leaders, Robert Biedroń, was present in Krosno. – Let these elections be our protest against this corrupt, degenerate government – he said.
Włodzimierz Czarzasty was asked by journalists during Friday’s press conference in Radom, among others: about why – in his opinion – the president of PiS Jaroslaw Kaczynski will not take part in the election debate organized by government television.
– To get to the debate, you have to be smart, understand the questions, formulate brilliant answers, deliver speeches that reach seven million people listening, you have to not be afraid of people, be sure of your reasons – he noted. In Czarzasty’s opinion, the PiS president “knows that he will not be able to cope with opposition representatives.”
On Thursday in Rzeszów, the leader of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, announced his participation in the debate. In turn, the president of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński, said that he would not take part in the debate. During this time, he will participate in a meeting in Przysucha. The Prime Minister confirmed his participation in the debate on social media Mateusz Morawiecki.
Czarzasty: there are no limits to absurdity anymore
“Echo Kieleckie”, “Nasze Miasto Gorzów” and the echodnia.eu portal – belonging to the Polska Press media group – refused to allow three candidates of the New Left and Third Way to publish election advertisements. Reason? As the publisher pointed out, the values presented by politicians of these groups “are incompatible with its program line.” – This is scandalous preventive censorship – says the candidate of the Senate Pact from Kielce, Henryk Milcarz. In a statement sent to tvn24.pl, Polska Press writes in response to the “false claims of the disappointed candidate.”
Czarzasty said on Friday in Radom that the refusal to place advertisements by the Polska Press group, controlled by Orlen, is “scandalous” and proves that “there are no limits to absurdity anymore.” – The press concern, which was purchased by the state-owned Orlen, which is governed by PiS through its president nominee (Daniel – ed.) Obajtek, generally has a program line different from all other parties, except PiS – noted Czarzasty. He also pointed out that the ministers running in elections they run their campaigns using public functions.
Meanwhile, as he noted, “the problem is that the queues in hospitals are still there, but we still see that we need to brag.” – Ziobro boasts that the justice system works fantastically, and we are waiting for court decisions longer than we used to – he added.
According to Czarzasty, State Treasury companies are also taking part in the election campaign on the PiS side. – The presidents of these companies and vice-presidents, who are nominated by the party, contribute money to the election campaign of PiS candidates – said Czarzasty. – The unequal treatment of all entities in this campaign is obvious – concluded the co-chairman of the New Left.
Biedroń on the importance of elections
Another of the leaders of the Left, Robert Biedroń, was in Krosno in Podkarpacie on Friday. The politician pointed out that thanks to the elections it is possible to change the current reality and turn it into a “smiling, open and tolerant Poland.” – Let these elections be our protest against this corrupt, degenerate government – Biedroń appealed.
In his opinion, the elections will be a choice between “the black and brown coalition of PiS and Confederation” and “a smiling and tolerant Poland.” – It will be a choice between “Rydzykowa” Poland and “Rydzikowa” Poland (Łukasz Rydzik is the “number one” of the Left’s list for the Sejm in the Krosno district – ed.). It is a choice whether we will be ruled by a mayor and a parish priest, or whether we will be a self-governing Poland, a free Poland – he argued.
In the opinion of the co-chairman of the New Left, the current government has made Poland “sit on a stick” in the EU. – For almost a thousand days there has been no money from the KPO for hospitals, school renovations, for everything that is important today – Biedroń enumerated.
He added that the Left’s demands include: a decent pension and widow’s pension, a railway in every poviat, a regular bus in every city, and access to a hospital in every poviat. – These elections are also a choice whether cities such as Krosno will develop or decline – said Biedroń.
The politician was also asked about the refusal of the Polska Press media to publish advertisements for opposition candidates. According to Biedroń, this means that “(Daniel – ed.) Obajtek transformed the local media into party chatter.” – These are party newspapers. This decision shows the kind of Poland we live in, that there are candidates who can advertise in the media and there are those who cannot, because it is not in line with the party line – commented Biedroń.
