He was so drunk that on a straight stretch of road he was unable to control the wheel. As a result, he drove off the road in Czeluścin (Wielkopolska), fell into a ditch and hit the culvert with the car. As it turned out, he was carrying his daughter in the passenger seat.

The incident took place on Monday in the town of Czeluścin. As you can see in the recording received by the police from the witnesses of the event, the driver of the red Skoda on a straight section suddenly drove off to the right side of the road, then fell into a ditch and hit a culvert there.

Behind the wheel of the car was a 59-year-old resident of the Krotoszyn district. The man was driving his Skoda while intoxicated. The device showed 2.56 per mille of alcohol in the exhaled air – informs junior aspirant Marek Balczyński from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Gostyń.

The driver caused a direct threat not only to himself, but also to his passenger. The car – according to the police – also traveled his 30-year-old daughter with a disability.

– Fortunately for the driver and the passenger, it ended only with bruises – emphasizes Balczyński.

The driver was arrested, and after testing for alcohol, he was released home. – The man will be responsible for driving under the influence of alcohol and for causing a collision – said Balczyński.

The 59-year-old is liable to a fine of up to PLN 30,000, a ban on driving any vehicles or vehicles of a certain type, even for 15 years, and the obligation to pay a cash benefit to the Victims’ Assistance Fund and Post-penitentiary Assistance in the amount of PLN 5,000 to PLN 6,000.
